Driver Leads Police on Chase

DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – One person is in the Morgan County Jail after leading police on a car chase.

Decatur Police say just after midnight, they were attempting to make a typical traffic stop when the driver took off. Police chased the driver through several streets in southwest Decatur.

During the pursuit, police say the driver threw drugs and a gun out of the window.

The driver finally gave himself up in the 400-block of Bradley Street. He is now behind bars on weapon and drug charges, along with several traffic violations.
