DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – The Decatur Police Department will team up with Target next week for a neat community event.

Drop by “National Night Out” on August 5 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Target Shopping Center, at 1235 Point Mallard Parkway in Decatur.

National Night Out is a national crime prevention effort designed to strengthen communities by encouraging neighborhoods to engage in stronger relationships with each other and with their local law enforcement partners.

The goal is to heighten crime-prevention awareness, build support and participation in local anti-crime programs, and most importantly, send a message that our neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. You can also get to know your neighbors better.

Bring the kids and enjoy face painting, food, games and a moon bounce!
