DECATUR, Ala. – The Decatur Police Department has made an arrest in connection to the murder of 22-year-old Tiara Alexandra Cole.

Officers responded to the Quality Inn on Jameson Dr. around noon on July 22, when someone reported that a woman was dead.

Investigators learned that Cole traveled to Decatur with a male companion in her 2003 Toyota Camry. The vehicle was not at the hotel at the time.

Investigators followed leads to Norcross, Georgia overnight. On July 22 at 11:15 PM the Gwinnett County Georgia Sheriff’s Department notified Decatur PD that they located the Toyota Camry.

The vehicle was occupied by Carey Davis Jr. of Norcross, GA who immediately invoked his right to counsel due to his involvement in an altercation in Decatur, Ala.

Carey Davis Jr. is being held in the Gwinett County Jail on unrelated charges pending extradition to Decatur, Ala. on a murder charge.

Bond has been set for Davis at $250,000.
