Decatur murder suspect released on bond

DECATUR, Ala. – A man charged with murder following a shooting at Decatur Place Apartments is out on bond.

Morgan County Sheriff’s deputies say Shadeed Abdul Fuqua turned himself in to authorities Friday following the incident Thursday.

Decatur police officers responded to the apartment complex around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. They arrived to see the victim outside of Apartment Building F.

Officials identified the man as Jarmaine Cardell Jones, 27. They said he was injured and taken to Decatur Morgan Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Authorities announced Fuqua was wanted for the murder of Jones Thursday.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office said Fuqua turned himself in at the jail around 3:10 Friday afternoon.

His bond was set at $150,000.
