UPDATE: The Decatur Police Department arrested 62-year-old Melvin Keith Dancy following a shooting that left one man injured Wednesday night.
Police say they responded to a shooting call at Speed Z gas station at 1202 Moulton Street West on March 3 and found a man with gunshot wounds to his left leg.
During the investigation, police say Dancy was developed as the suspect.
Police say they then located Dancy with a gun who they say was reported stolen by a Decatur resident on Feburary 6.
Dancy was charged with Assault 2nd Degree and Receiving Stolen Property 2nd Degree.
He was taken to the Morgan County Correctional Facility with a $5,000 bond.
DECATUR, Ala. – Authorities are investigating a shooing on West Moulton Street in Decatur.
Decatur Police were called to a shooting around 8:26 p.m. Wednesday.
Officers found a man who had been shot in the leg. Emergency crews took the man to Decatur Morgan Hospital for treatment.
Police have arrested a suspect at this time, but did not release their identity.
