WATCH: Decatur City Council passes state of emergency over weekend storm damage


DECATUR, Ala. – Straight-line winds ripped through Decatur neighborhoods Saturday evening, dealing heavy damage.

The Decatur City Council unanimously passed a resolution declaring a state of emergency after the storm system impacted trees, electrical poles, and two structures.

Residents are working to clean up the remnants of the storm damage and tree companies are driving through residential areas picking up larger branches.
