MOULTON, Ala. (WHNT) – Firefighters worked to put out flames at a commercial building in Moulton on Tuesday afternoon.  The building is on Court Street, just west of the downtown area.

The Lawrence County EMA says the structure is an old warehouse.

The building once belonged to Bergen-Paterson, a company that built various kinds of pipes.  Another company later bought the building and made insulation there. The building has been abandoned for several years.

Seven different fire departments responded to help with the effort. They don’t believe anyone was inside.

The fire was reported around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
