DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) -- Authorities in Limestone County are investigating a boat explosion that burned a woman Sunday morning.

Firefighters received a call around 11:15 a.m. about a possible explosion at Riverwalk Marina.

When fire and police arrived, they found a large cabin cruiser boat fully involved in flames.

Two children who were on the boat said they were at a dock to get fuel.

An employee at the fuel station said all the pumps were turned off, and the boat operator waited five minutes as is proper protocol before turning on the motors.

He said the first motor was running fine, but when the second motor started they heard an explosion.

There were eight people in the boat party.  Two were on the dock.

Two women in lounge chairs on the back of the boat were thrown into the water.

The main cabin caught fire during the explosion.

A woman was burned, and a man picked her up and threw her into the water.

He followed and jumped off the boat as well.

Paramedics took the woman by ambulance to Huntsville Hospital.

The children said they were inside the cabin right before the explosion, but decided to climb out on the front of the boat.

One of the kids jumped into the water and the other onto the dock.

Alabama Marine Police, Decatur Fire, Decatur Police are investigating.

Alabama state troopers also responded to the scene.
