DECATUR, Ala. – One Decatur elementary school will be moving to virtual instruction.

Decatur City Schools said Banks-Caddell Elementary School will be going virtual starting Friday.

School officials cited increasing COVID-19 cases in the decision.

Thursday will be an optional, full, in-person day of instruction for students before virtual classes start, so parents and caregivers can make plans for their children.

Banks-Caddell will reopen on Tuesday, September 7.
