ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) - There's a second new centenarian in the Tennessee Valley this week.  Mary Adamson turned 100 Wednesday in Albertville on 12-12-12.
Ruben Jackson Burns of Athens turned 100 on Friday.  Born in Limestone County, Burns has four children, 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
So what's the secret?  How do you live to be 100?

"Take care of yourself, don't use tobacco or drinking," said Burns.  "No smoking.  You eat right, you live right, and you die right."

Burns' children say they will always remember him saying he would never borrow money to buy anything, except his house.

Happy 100th birthday, Ruben!
