DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — Two people are dead after a shooting at a Quality Inn in Decatur on Sunday.

Decatur Police say they were dispatched to the motel on 2120 Jameson Drive SW around 12:30 p.m. in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found two men in the parking lot with gunshot wounds.

Morgan County Coroner Jeff Chunn confirmed Jason Gray, 45, from Moulton and Brad Schulte, 39, from Leighton were the men involved in the deadly incident.

Decatur Police said Gray was dead when officers arrived on the scene, Schulte was found shot and taken to Huntsville Hospital where he later died.

Police said the incident was confirmed as a murder-suicide by surveillance video which captured Schulte shoot Gray shortly before turning the gun on himself.

Officials said Gray was unarmed during the incident and they continue to investigate a motive.
