HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - The CEO of Davidson Technologies spoke to a small crowd gathered in Cummings Research Park to celebrate a new $3.5 million expansion of her company Thursday morning.

Dorothy Davidson said the new phase comes due to the company's growth. She unveiled a new logo for the company which simply states 'O'.

Construction on the new 22,000 square foot building is already underway.

In attendance were Madison County Commission Chairman Dale Strong, Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle, and Madison Mayor Troy Trulock.

Battle said Davidson's expansion proves that despite the federal government shutdown, Huntsville remains open for business.
