DECATUR, Ala. – Decatur Fire and Rescue were called to a fire near Jay Landings Marina in Decatur Friday morning.

The department says five units were called to the building fire in the 1200 Block of Highway 20 around 6:00 am.

According to Decatur Fire Chief Tracey Thornton, the building used to be a boat repair shop but is now used for storage. The report says that the building does have a small living space but the owners are out of town.

One person, watching the building, was inside but did not receive injuries.

At 8:58 am crews were working to put out hot spots. No other building were impacted.

Officials asked drivers to expect traffic delays in the area.
