BOAZ, Ala. (WHNT) – Fire officials say what started as a controlled burn spread to other parts of a Boaz business on Monday afternoon.
Officials say workers at Cotton’s Shop & Transport, a trucking company, were burning cardboard when the fire spread to some wood pallets and eventually some semi trucks. The fire started at about 3 p.m.
No one was hurt in the fire. Officials also say the fire did not spread to any buildings.
People reported being able to see the smoke from as far away as Guntersville.
As of about 6 p.m., crews had the fire under control. No word yet how long it will take crews to extinguish all of the hot spots.
