MADISON COUNTY, Ala.--  He had to keep quiet about the show until it aired on Tuesday. But, Chairman Dale Strong's time on contestant row was all the buzz at Wednesday's Madison County Commission meeting.

Madison County Commission Chairman Dale Strong, 'come on down.'  On a recent trip to Los Angeles, Strong was chosen to be in the audience on 'The Price is Right.'

"When you get there, you sit in a long line. And, they interview you.  And, I guess the thing that they told me is somehow they thought that I spoke southern, I don't know why," said Chairman Strong.

Strong said he had no idea what to expect, he just wanted to watch the show.  He never thought they'd actually pick him.

"When the interviewer asked, 'Where are you from?' I said I'm from Rocket City, USA. That's all it took," he said.

Strong said he didn't even realize he had been chosen for contestant row.

"It was so loud in there that I really didn't hear them call my name until I saw this guy walk across the stage.  They had your name wrote on a board and I thought 'Oh my goodness.'  But, it was a great experience," he said.

Unfortunately, Strong didn't come away a winner because his price wasn't right.   In fact, he's kind of scratching his head saying he still doesn't believe that trampoline costs $2,800.

"It was fun, great experience. Hate I didn't bring something home for Madison County. But, again it was a fun time," said Strong.

Chairman Strong added he learned something interesting about the game show.  If a contestant wins on the show and they mention they won before the show airs, their prizes are taken away.
