HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Don Webster of HEMSI confirmed that a call came in at 5:49 a.m. of a dead body found on McVay street.
Huntsville Police have identified a suspect in the shooting and issued a capital murder warrant for Ricardo Bass. This is the same man who is also wanted by Decatur Police for a robbery-homicide that occurred Thursday morning.
Huntsville officials identified the victim as 31-year-old Jeffrey Carden, from Huntsville.
HPD blocked off a portion of McVay Street Southwest, from Drake Avenue to Belvoir Drive, and advised drivers to use a different route until the road was re-opened just before 9:45 a.m.
Madison County Coroner Tyler Berryhill said the man was found dead from a gunshot wound.
Anyone with knowledge about Bass’ whereabouts or who spots him is asked to contact authorities and to not approach him. Major Crimes Investigators believe Bass is armed and dangerous.
Court records show Bass is currently out on bond after he was arrested in Decatur for allegedly robbing someone at gunpoint in April.
