MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) — Police and Emergency crews responded to calls of a possible biohazard assault in the early hours of the morning.

Hazmat crews were called in to clean up an unknown substance in Madison.
It happened at an apartment on Carmine Circle, near the intersection of Wall Triana and Gillespie.
Emergency crews on the scene told us they did not believe the substance to be a risk to anyone.

Hazardous materials specialists didn’t order any evacuations, which we’re told would have been done immediately, had there been a serious threat.
No word on what the material turned out to be or what sparked the incident.
