AUBURN, Ala. – An 18-year-old student was found dead in his Auburn dorm room Sunday afternoon.

According to our news partners at, police received a 911 call around 3 p.m. from the student’s parents asking for a welfare check when they were unable to reach their son.

When police arrived, they found the student dead in his room. The name of the dorm hasn’t been released.

Authorities haven’t released the student’s name, but do say he isn’t local. His body was taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for an autopsy. Foul play is not suspected.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is conducting the investigation, along side the Lee County Coroner’s Office and the ADFS.
