11-month old girl killed in Athens wreck

ATHENS, Ala. – An 11-month-old infant died after a wreck in Athens Wednesday morning, police said.

Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson identified the child as Everly Derringer.

City officials said three vehicles were involved in the wreck at Highway 31 and Elm Street. The wreck happened around 11 a.m.

Three other people were injured in the wreck, Johnson said. Two were taken to Athens Limestone Hospital, and the third was taken to Huntsville Hospital. Information on their injuries was not immediately available.

The wreck is still under investigation, Johnson said.
