SUV, dump truck collide in Limestone County

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Three people were injured in a wreck involving a sport utility vehicle and a dump truck Tuesday morning.

The two vehicles collided about 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 31 and Huntsville Browns Ferry Road, the area also known as Tanner Crossroads.

We understand the SUV was traveling east on Huntsville Browns Ferry and the truck was headed north on Highway 31.

Three people in the SUV were taken to Athens Limestone Hospital. No one in the truck was hurt.

Traffic was blocked in the northbound lanes of Highway 31 for about an hour following the wreck, but is moving again now.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
