LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – A woman is recovering in Athens Hospital following a wreck just west of Athens city limits.

Alabama State Troopers say just after four Sunday evening,  the driver of a red Nissan hydroplaned and lost control on Highway 72.

Troopers say the car crossed into oncoming traffic, and collided with a box truck toting a carnival lemonade stand on a trailer.

The crash pushed the truck into trees off the shoulder of the road, and it was leaned to the side, off two of its tires.

Traffic on 72 was at a standstill for well over an hour as crews worked to clear the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured. The driver of the sedan suffered minor injuries.
