LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. – The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office says a man is expected to survive after being run over by his own SUV.

Investigators say they were called to Todd Circle, just west of Athens, just after 6:00 a.m. They say a man was having problems starting his Ford Explorer, so he crawled under the vehicle to try to get it started. That’s when the SUV started and slipped into gear, running the driver over.

The man was pinned for a short time, but managed to get out from under the vehicle.

Paramedics rushed the man to Huntsville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
