LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. – A man who led Limestone County Sheriff’s Office deputies on a chase Thursday morning was running late to work and wanted to have time to get a biscuit, the sheriff’s office said.
Jonathan Trousdale, 36, of Elkmont, was taken into custody just before 8 a.m. Thursday on charges of attempting to elude and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

A deputy tried to stop Trousdale for speeding on Piney Chapel Road and said he took off. During the chase, Trousdale left the road and damaged someone’s yard, authorities said.
Trousdale then turned off Piney Chapel Road onto the Rails to Trails walking trail, drove across several pedestrian bridges and then onto Huber Road, according to the sheriff’s office. He abandoned the truck in a cotton field and was arrested after a brief search, they said.
When asked why he was speeding, investigators said Trousdale told them he was running late for work and wanted to have time to stop for a biscuit on the way.
Trousdale was booked into the Limestone County Jail on bonds totaling $3,500.
