LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. - Deputies arrested an Elkmont man after allegedly stealing packages from porches.

The Limestone County Sheriff's Department said several residential and business cameras captured a suspect stealing items throughout the county.

Monday, community witnesses helped identify the suspect as 35-year-old Cleabron King.

King is accused of stealing an estimated $2 thousand worth of goods off Limestone County porches.

"We had five reports that were completed by victims here in the county," said Limestone County Sheriff's Department Investigator Caleb Durden.

The department charged King with possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest in addition to the theft charges.

Investigators said when they tried to arrest him, he was uncooperative.

Leading to a struggle between King and two investigators.

Authorities said King was previously arrested in January for stealing AC units in Elkmont.

What surprised the department about King's most recent arrest is his refusal to return the goods.

Now the department is trying to return the stolen goods to their rightful owners.

"If you could bring us an invoice or something showing that you had made that purchase and it matches the items we have then we can release those to you," added Durden.

Limestone County Sheriff's Department said they weren't able to recover every single item that this man may have taken but the body cam footage from his arrest included a textbook confession from the criminal.

They plan to use that against him in court.
