Convicted sex offender charged for failing to register

ATHENS, Ala- A convicted sex offender living in Athens was arrested and charged for failing to register under the Alabama Sex Offenders Registration and Notification Act (SORNA).

36 year-old Steven Hampton was booked into the Limestone County Jail where he is currently being held on a $15,000 bond.

SORNA compliance investigator Steve Croley noticed  Hampton’s  failure to register with Limestone County Sheriff’s Office during his registration month (April).
