LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Volunteer firefighters in Limestone County had their hands full Monday night putting out a fire at a barn.

Just after 10 p.m. several people who live on Mooresville Road called to report a barn fire just north of Barksdale Road in eastern Limestone County.

When firefighters arrived, the barn was engulfed in flames.   High winds and cold temperatures did little to help crews get the fire extinguished.

It took volunteer firefighters from East Limestone and Owens nearly two hours to get the fire put out.   The barn is a total loss.
