ATHENS, Ala. - Athens Police are trying to find the couple responsible for robbing a woman and dragging her down the road. The victim says it happened after she met the couple to sell her cell phone to them.

Officers say the victim met the couple near the intersection of 5th Avenue and Jefferson Street after she posted a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (valued at $350) for sale on Facebook's yard sale website. She told officers a female responded to the post.

She says the woman was in the back seat with a newborn baby and a male in his early 20s was driving.

The victim says she handed the phone to the driver for him to inspect it, but he didn't give it back. She reached inside the vehicle to grab the phone. That's when the man grabbed her arm and started driving, dragging her onto the roadway. The woman managed to get away after a short distance. Emergency crews took her to the hospital for treatment.

If you know anything about this case, please call the Athens Police Department at 256-233-8700.
