TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WHNT) – Investigators have arrested a 20-year-old University of Alabama student in connection with the most recent threat at the university.
Dakota John Timm was originally charged with obstructing governmental operations after an alarming message sent Monday night. That charge has since been changed to harassing communication. He is currently in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, being held on a $2500 bond.
Investigators do not believe the threat to be connected with the initial post on Sunday night that caused a lockdown at Tutwiler Dormitory. UAPD is working with state and federal authorities to determine the origin of the initial threat. Investigators are actively following up on tips for that threat.
