Alabama Commission on Higher Education honors Huntsville woman

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Huntsville resident Missy Ming Smith was honored this week by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education. Commissioner Smith just completed a nine-year term on the state’s coordinating board for Alabama’s public two- and four- year institutions.

Governor Bob Riley appointed her to represent the Fifth Congressional District on the 12 member board in 2006. Commissioner Smith was praised for her service on the Academic Affairs, Instructional Affairs, Nominating, and Finance and Accountability Committees.
