Officials release identity of student who died at Alabama A&M University

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. – A student was found dead in a residence hall at Alabama A&M University.

According to officials, Deloi Cook was found dead around 8:45 p.m. Monday. Deloi Cook was 32 years old and was working on her master’s degree as a communications specialist.

Chief Carlisle says Cook’s family has been notified.

According to officials, AAMU law enforcement and Huntsville Pollice are investigating the death, but they don’t suspect foul play.

“The investigation is ongoing, but there is absolutely no reason to suspect anything but natural causes at this time,” said Chief Carlisle.

The university stated counseling and grief services are being made available and they are also asking for prayers and condolences.
