HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – A Hartselle man was charged with first-degree robbery after authorities tracked him down following an incident on December 1.

Daniel Wayne Morgan, 39, of Hartselle was booked into the Madison County Jail on December 3.

Police responded to a call of an armed bank robbery at the Regions Bank on Airport Road near Chateau Drive around 9:30 that morning.

Several units responded to the scene, with no suspect in sight. Bank employees provided a description of the person.

Shortly after, another call of a possible robbery came through with a person matching the description at another Regions Bank location on Bob Wallace Avenue near Memorial Parkway. Police quickly determined there was no robbery at that location.

On December 3, officials say Morgan was found at a Hartselle residence by Huntsville Police Department investigators, along with FBI, Hartselle Police, Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, and Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

The Regions Bank on Airport Road was closed while police investigated. Regions Bank corporate office issued the above statement to News 19.
