Windows SCCM Engineer specializing in the management and operations of a large Windows-based environment in support of the Missile Defense Agency on the JRDC program at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL.

Primary duties include running through a daily battle-rhythm of checks on the SCCM and Windows Enterprise environment, viewing and responding (as appropriate) to events reflected in the various management and server patch management tools, attending various meetings (crew/team, staff, change, configuration, etc.), participating in forward thinking activities and automating as much as feasible. Daily reviews of systems to ensure normal maintenance functions are performing properly as well as execution of daily/weekly system health checks. System audit log reviews as required. This position will focus on the administration of Microsoft SCCM including software distribution and the patching and remediation of servers. The Windows SCCM Engineer will be required to coordinate efforts with other work centers and personnel to resolve Remedy Incidents related to systems and supporting infrastructure. Primary duty hours fall between 0600 (ET) and 1900 (ET) with occasional shift work (and on-call) required to assist with after-hours maintenance activities.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or a related technical field and 8 years of relevant experience. Previous work experience as a Windows system administrator supporting a large enterprise with knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server 2003/2008 and SCCM Patch Management a must. Must have a strong analytical background with accompanying troubleshooting skills. Strong communication skills also required. Per DoD 8570, candidate must be certified Security+ or have the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire. Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain.

Preferred Requirements: Essential qualifications for a successful candidate include an ability to quickly adapt to new situations, a strong commitment to a team environment, a capacity to work with little supervision and the willingness to learn new technologies. Familiarity with virtualization technologies, such as VMware, a plus.
