Update: Explorers Ball At U.S. Space & Rocket Center Sold Out

skylab300HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The U.S. Space and Rocket Center will celebrate Huntsville’s rich history in the space program at a special event on Thursday, January 31. 

The 2013 Explorers Ball is officially SOLD OUT.

Distinguished guests include all eight Skylab astronauts, who will help commemorate the 40th anniversary of Skylab and installation of the Skylab exhibit at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.

They are Dr. Owen Garriott, Alan Bean, Paul Weitz, Joe Kerwin, Jack Lousma, Jerry Carr, Bill Pogue, and. Edward Gibson.  Dr. George Mueller, former NASA Associate Administrator for Manned Space Flight, was instrumental in the design of Skylab and will also be honored.

Cocktails are at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is at 6:45 p.m.  The event is black tie optional.   Again, tickets are SOLD OUT.
