LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – This week’s Tools for Teachers spotlight shines on Tobie Craig, a third grade teacher at West Limestone School. We surprised Mrs. Tobie (as the kids call her) with $319 to spend in her classroom as she sees fit. She was nominated fellow teacher Amanda Gibbs, whose son is in Craig’s class. Gibbs credits Mrs. Tobie for sparking her son’s interest in reading.

“Mrs. Tobie has given Daniel confidence and motivation to do his best,” Gibbs told WHNT in her nomination letter. “Daniel loves coming to school and loves Mrs. Tobie.”

And that love is reciprocated by Mrs. Tobie–to every student.

“Each one of them represents a life,” said Craig, fighting back tears, “and I can affect it either positively or in a negative way, and I try to do a positive thing in their lives.”

If you know a worthy teacher, coach, principal, or aide, tell us about them through the Tools for Teachers nomination form.
