HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - Christmas always seems to bring wonderful stories of people going out of their way to help others, and this week's recipient of our Pay It Forward is no exception. Beth Lee nominated Trinity Roy because she brings Christmas to the children who are patients at Huntsville Hospital during the holidays.

"Trinity Roy is a wonderful, caring lady who makes little Christmas trees for the children that are in the hospital during Christmas," Lee said.  "She says she just hopes it makes them smile a little. Trinity uses her own money for most of the materials and does all the work on them. Please Pay It Forward to her."

Beth says Trinity is a very special person.

"She would give anybody the shirt right off her back," Beth said.  "She's just a very Christian person that just loves to do things for people."

Trinity finds time to do these things despite being a mother of two small children and working part-time to help her husband make ends meet.

"She's struggling to take care of her family, her two children, but she still takes care of the children in the hospital, too," Lee said.

Trinity's son, Dothan, was her inspiration to start making the little Christmas trees.

"When he was about three months old, he got RSV and had to be hospitalized," Trinity said.  "It just made me realize there is a need for kids to feel like it was Christmas at Christmastime."

Which gave rise to her organization.

"It's just something that I started," Trinity said. "It's called the Firefly Project and we're actually a non-profit under the Manna House."

Trinity says the Pay It Forward money is a Godsend.

"Oh, absolutely, it'll buy a lot of Christmas trees, probably about a hundred."

So if you happen to see Trinity and her two sons, Legend and Dothan, delivering little Christmas trees to the hospital, offer to help.  They'll appreciate it.  And if you would like do more, you can find The Firefly Project on Facebook and contact Trinity there.
