For the last 11 years, the Kids to Love Foundation has helped more than 175,000 kids in foster care. Our commitment to the children we serve is getting stronger!
Every week we bring you the stories of foster children in need of a home. The irony, our Kids to Love Foundation was homeless.
“They've been moving around in temporary space. Their describing what their looking for & I said I think I have just the building for you.” Louis Breland of Breland Companies said.
With more than 13,000 square feet of office and warehouse space, Kids to Love has a home!
“We would like to present to you today…..” before Lee Marshall can finish, the crowd cheers.
“We're excited to bring our office space and warehouse space all under one roof, but it's not just about what we have going on currently, it's about our vision we have for the future to really make an impact in the lives of foster children.” Julie Reyburn, Communications Director with the Kids to Love Foundation said.
“Growing up I went thru a really tough time and I wanna thank Lee Marshall and the Kids to Love Foundation for just supporting me through my college years. My brother and I, it really meant a lot to me, I'm just thankful to be here, thankful we're gonna get a chance to cut that ribbon!” Howard Petty, A Kids to Love Scholarship Recipient said.
“My wife Patti has been a tremendous supporter for the last 3 years. My wife's adopted by a loving family fortunately. There's so much that goes on with foster kids is over looked by society. So we decided to step forward and give this building to Kids to Love and affect a lot of children who live here in Madison County.” Louis Breland with Breland Companies said.
So what will we do with all the space?
Education and outreach!
You’ve seen our school supply and Christmas Drives! Those will continue!
We’ll be teaching foster and adoptive parenting classes, life skills to our older teens, computer skills and soon we’ll launch KTech, a workforce training initiative for our older kids who are aging out of the system. Skills that will help them have more than just a job, it will give them a career and keep them out of jail, off the street and out of the system. We’ve got work to do, click here to help!
