HUNTSVILLE, Ala (WHNT) – The Huntsville Historic Preservation Commission will review Bob Broadway’s application to demolish East Clinton School and subdivide the lot for residential structures at their Monday, Mar. 11, meeting at the Huntsville City Council Chambers.

Broadway, owner of The Broadway Group, has sent a letter to the neighbors notifying them that the request for demolition of East Clinton School will be on the agenda for the meeting.

The Huntsville School Board recently approved a measure to extend Broadway Group’s purchase agreement to allow Broadway time to go before the Huntsville Historic Preservation Commission.
Broadway has offered to pay $1.6 million to demolish the school building and subdivide the property for residential lots.  Broadway’s failure to complete all the necessary requirements resulted in his demolition request being pulled from the HHPC February agenda.
