Yvette Sanchez

Yvette Sanchez left News 19 in April 2022.

Yvette Sanchez came to WHNT in May 2020 during the worldwide pandemic of COVID-19. But that
wouldn’t stop her from chasing her dreams. She left the beaches and palm trees of Southern California for the Rocket City.

A native of the San Fernando Valley, Yvette is excited to start a new chapter of her life in Huntsville,
Alabama. She’s the youngest of three and the only girl; she grew up a girly-girl with a tomboy twist. As an LA girl with two older brothers, she grew up a huge sports fan, of course her number one team being the Los Angeles Dodgers.

She got to live out some of her dreams when she took her talents onto the field and worked with the
Dodgers organization, through internships in the Los Angeles market and her junior college. All those combined and her love for storytelling, and it ultimately led her down the path of sports
journalism. She graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University with a degree in sports journalism.

When Yvette isn’t out on a story you can find her at the gym, with her dog Bear or watching any live
sporting event. She loves her culture, so if you don’t see her there you can catch her salsa dancing to her favorite Cuban music. Feel free to chat her up, she’s sure to always have a smile on her face and loves a great conversation.
