    FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) – Authorities in Florence are investigating a bank robbery that happened Saturday morning. Police say a man robbed the Bank Independent at 1701 Darby Dr. in Florence around 10 o’clock.     FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) – Investigators say the search for a missing teen is over. Officers say 15-year-old Mackenzie Crosswhite was found at a location in Muscle Shoals. The teen was reported missing from her home Saturday. Officers say her family believed she left her home through a back window sometime late Friday night or early Saturday morning.     HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Huntsville Police responded to a shooting in the 4300 block of Patton Road around 9:15 a.m. on Sunday morning. Police say the victim was Garard Smith and that Smith was shot in the leg. According to police, the victim stated that Aaron Williams was the offender who shot at him.   • UPDATE: Two Die, Third Critical After Murder-Suicide In Knox Creek Subdivision

    HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Huntsville Police said Saturday’s shooting that left a man and a woman dead and another woman seriously injured appears to be a murder-suicide. Officers also rescued two children from the home after a standoff that lasted several hours. Huntsville investigators said it appears Brandon Lee Titsworth, 29, shot Ashley Leann Spangler then shot his live-in girlfriend, Briana Leigh Perkey.  He then shot and killed himself.   • Late-Night Wreck in Athens

    A two vehicle wreck in Limestone County happened right at 10:30 PM Saturday night at the entrance of Swan Creak Trailer Park on HWY 31 north. According to Athens police, two pickups collided. One pulled out of the entrance to the trailer park and was t-boned by the other. Athens fire and rescue had to use the jaws of life to free the driver of the red truck who was in serious condition.   • Madison County Home Destroyed in Fire

    Firefighters also out this morning in southern Madison County. Volunteer firefighters from New Hope and Owens Crossroads responded to a fire at a house at 398 Beshears Dr. that runs off Hobbs Island Road. Despite quick response by the firefighters, the house is destroyed. No word on any injuries and fire investigators are having to wait until whats left of the house cools down before they can search for a cause of the fire.

  • UPDATE: I-565 Wreck

    According to Huntsville Police a pickup driven by Lee Thomas Mayne was traveling eastbound on the west bound lanes of I-565. Police say Mayne may have been experiencing a diabetic episode, causing the erratic driving. He ran head-on into one car then hit two others. One car flipped over on its top. Fire and Rescue responders had to cut the roof off of one of the vehicles to get a person out. Six people were taken to Huntsville Hospital. Police […]

  • Owens Crossroads Fatal Wreck

    Owens Crossroads Police say a pickup truck hit a utility pole on Old Highway 431S near Owens Crossroads early this morning around 3:30 A.M. According to authorities the driver, 26 year old Charles Allen Van Heiden, lost control of his vehicle and was thrown from the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Owens Crossroad fire, police hemsi all responded to the scene.

  • George “Goober” Lindsey Dead at 83

    Actor and comedian George “Goober” Lindsey died early Sunday morning after an extended illness.   He was 83 years old. Lindsey was born in 1928 in Fairfield, Alabama, and grew up in the small town of Jasper.  He became interested in acting after seeing a production of Oklahoma! when he was just 14.
