    WASHINGTON DC – The United States House of Representatives has voted to ban the Confederate flag from flying on flagpoles at cemeteries maintained by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.     HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Huntsville Police say a 29-year-old man is no longer considered missing. Police said Friday morning that Andre Darnell Holman has been located and is in contact with his family. Prior to this, Holman was last heard from Monday, March 21st.

    SARDIS CITY, Ala. — Officials say a Sardis High School student died in a morning wreck Thursday morning. School officials have identified the student as Krista Haygood.   • Madison County commissioner wants more details about non-profit funding

    Madison, Ala. — A Madison County commissioner has raised concerns about the amount of funding going to local non-profit groups. Specifically, Commissioner Phil Riddick wants to know how the organizations are using the funds provided to them from the county’s general fund. Three non-profits requested funding to support their organization at the Wednesday council meeting. The funds totaled close to $38,000. All of them were approved.   • Limestone Co. investigators, K9 sniff out cocaine, marijuana & cash in Tanner man’s home

    LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. – A Tanner man faces drug possession and distribution charges after Limestone County sheriff’s investigators uncovered more than 12 grams of cocaine in his home.  Damien Kenyontist Sims, 37, is being held in the Limestone County Jail. Narcotics deputies and a K9 unit searched the man’s home on Stewart Road on Thursday.  They seized 12.4 grams of cocaine, digital scales, a small amount of marijuana, and $2,108 in cash. They say this man was caught on camera robbing the B and S Grocery on Elkton Road in Athens Friday night. (WHNT) – Huntsville Police are investigating a late-night shooting that sent one person to the hospital.  Officers say the shooting happened on the 4700 block of Mastin Lake Road around 11 p.m. Tuesday.
