Kayla Smith joined the News 19 staff in February 2022 as an MMJ/Reporter.
She was born and raised in Memphis, TN, and she moved to Alabama for college in 2017. She graduated from the University of Alabama with a BA in communications with a double major in news media and political science.
While in Tuscaloosa, Kayla worked as a multimedia journalist and anchor for WVUA 23 News.
When she’s not out reporting, Kayla loves to travel, read, visit museums, try out new recipes, and cheer on the Crimson Tide.
