Emily Moessner

Emily Moessner joined the News 19 team in January of 2022. She is a Multimedia Journalist based out of Huntsville and is excited to cover stories across northern Alabama.

Emily is originally from a suburb of Washington, DC. She attributes her interest in news, to being from the Nation’s Capital, where there is always something newsworthy going on. Emily first came to the state of Alabama for college, when she attended the University of Alabama. While studying at UA, Emily worked as a Multimedia Journalist for WVUA 23 News.

After graduation, Emily packed her bags and headed west for an opportunity to work as a news Producer in southern Oregon. While out west, Emily spent time exploring all of the hiking trails, lakes, and wineries in the area. Emily says the most noteworthy event she helped cover was the Almeda Fire in September of 2020.

After more than two years of living on the west coast, Emily moved to Raleigh, North Carolina for another producing opportunity. Her time in Raleigh was short lived, but she loved getting to cheer on the Carolina Hurricanes and Durham Bulls.

Emily is excited to be in Huntsville and to get back to her true passion of reporting. Emily says her favorite part of working in local news is getting to meet new people and become a member of the community she covers.

When Emily is not working, she enjoys attending workout classes, exploring the outdoors, photography, cooking, trying new restaurants, and cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide.
