Human remains found by hikers in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ala. – Hikers found human remains near a campground in Franklin County on Sunday.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed a human skull was found in the flood zone area across the water from Horseshoe Bend Campground.

​Investigators recovered the skull early Monday morning. It will be sent in for forensic testing and possible identification.
