Body found near train tracks in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Authorities are investigating after finding a body near train tracks in Birmingham.

Al.com reports Birmingham Fire and Rescue Services got a call at about 7:40 a.m. Tuesday about a body lying next to the train tracks at Floyd Bradford Road and Woodlands Industrial Drive.

Battalion Chief Sebastian Carrillo says while the body was near the railroad, officials have not yet determined if the victim was hit by a train.

Further details, including gender and race of the victim, have not been released.
