Mobile woman’s remains found in submerged car

SARALAND, Ala. (AP) — A car pulled from water north of Saraland contained the remains of an adult woman who is believed to have been reported missing last year.

Mobile Police Chief Lawrence Battiste says investigators are examining the car owned by Danniella Vian, of Mobile.

Battiste says the vehicle was found during a police diving exercise at Bayou Sara on Thursday.

Al.com reports the case is being investigated as a homicide. Battiste says there are no suspects at this stage of the probe.

Vian, who would now be 26, was last seen alive July 18. She had just bought the car and was last seen socializing with friends in West Mobile.
