Stormy Weather Monday: Heavy downpours likely, gusty winds and small hail possible

Showers and storms end this evening, and it turns cooler again for Tuesday

The Storm Prediction Center outlines a minimal risk of severe storms (storms that could produce wind gusts over 58 mph and/or some hail larger than quarters) for North Alabama and the southern edge of Tennessee for Monday afternoon and evening through about 7 PM. (Storms may last longer in Central Alabama: as late as 9 PM).

A few heavy thunderstorms pass through the region this evening, but it will turn colder and drier tonight. Temperatures drop into the 40s by morning with a mostly cloudy sky; the sun slowly breaks through for a cool, dry Tuesday: highs in the upper 50s with a cool north wind up to 15 miles per hour.
