SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — Authorities say cocaine, marijuana and ecstasy worth more than $1 million combined have been seized in Georgia and that five people, including an Alabama couple, have been arrested and charged with drug trafficking.
The Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team tells news outlets the drugs were taken in two seizures days apart.
Oronda Oberry, Oronda Hamilton, and Eric Maxwell were arrested Thursday. Team spokesman Gene Harley says the men were stopped in a car with over 3,400 ecstasy pills inside with an estimated street value of $68,000.
Harley says Alabama residents 53-year-old Gregory Bohannon and his wife, 58-year-old Teresea Bohannon, were arrested March 4 after they were discovered in a semitrailer with over four kilograms of cocaine, 600 pounds of marijuana and $20,000 in cash.
It’s unclear if the five have lawyers who could comment.
