MOBILE, Ala. — Authorities say the mother of a teenager accused of killing an Alabama police officer has been arrested.
News outlets cite Mobile County Sheriff’s Office documents as saying that Tiffany Perez was released from jail Tuesday. Her son, 19-year-old Marco Perez, is charged with capital murder in the shooting last month of Mobile police officer Sean Tuder.
Perez was arrested by an officer representing her bail bonding company. No new charges have been filed against her.
It appears she was either in breach of her bond or the company decided to withdraw its financial support for her. A representative for the company, Bail Out Bonding LLC, wouldn’t comment to AL.com .
She was accused of making a false report about her son being kidnapped. It’s unclear if she has a lawyer who could comment.
