Some Tennessee schools still closed due to illness

LINCOLN COUNTY, Tenn. – Lincoln County Schools and Giles County Schools will keep their doors shut, as officials take take more time to let sickness run its course.

Giles County Schools announced Tuesday afternoon that they would close for the remainder of the week.

Bill Heath, the superintendent for Lincoln County Schools, called the newsroom on Wednesday to say the school system would remain closed through the end of the week.

Fayetteville City Schools planned to be open Wednesday. The district closed Friday and Monday due to illness, and like other districts across the Tennessee Valley, it was closed Tuesday because of possible snow.

Lawrence County Schools also announced it would close for the remainder of the week, due to cold temperatures and illness.
