DECATUR, Ala. – One person was killed in a shooting in Decatur Friday afternoon.

According to Decatur Police, around 1 p.m., officers were sent to Central Parkway and Beltline Road SW for a male passed out behind the wheel of a car.

Police said they arrived and found Anthony Lewis in the driver’s seat with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to Decatur Morgan Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Saturday, Decatur Police identified the suspect as Lashawn Kentrell Caudle, and Morgan County Circuit Court issued a warrant for Caudle’s arrest.

According to officials, Lewis and Caudle knew each other, and the shooting was not random.

Police advise the public to consider Caudle armed and dangerous and to not approach him.
